Course Description

Oracle VM Server for SPARC technology (previously called Solaris Logical Domains) is part of a suite of methodologies for consolidation and resource management that includes Sun Fire Dynamic System Domains and Oracle Containers. This technology allows you to allocate a systems various resources, such as memory, CPUs, and devices, into logical groupings and create multiple, discrete systems, each with their own operating system, resources, and identity within a single computer system.The emphasis of this course is on providing practical Oracle VM Server for SPARC planning, configuration, and administration experience, while also covering the underlying technologies and best practices. This course features the Oracle Solaris 10 and Logical Domains Manager software. The students perform the course lab exercises using Oracle VM Server for SPARC supported servers.
