Course Description
This course provides an in-depth study of Tivoli Workload Scheduler (TWS) background processes, production cycle, and production processing. It includes a network planning discussion that explores the different types of TWS workstations, advantages of domains and designing a network to meet the needs of your organization. Students learn about configuration options available for an individual workstation and configuring an entire network, including how to effectively use TWS security. This course also addresses common TWS problems, how to identify what is wrong and how to resolve them.
Students participate in hands-on labs to reinforce the conecpts learned in class. Lab activities include:

Prerequisites
You should have:
- General computer literacy in a Linux and Windows Command Line and GUI environment.
- Basic understanding of production management and "batch processing" scheduling.
- Knowledge of current production job processing flow in the local environment where Tivoli Workload Scheduler will be implemented.
- Knowledge of file navigation, file editing, and command prompt actions for the operating system to be
- used (Unix or Windows).
Before attending the TWS 8.4 Administrations course, you should attend the following courses or possess equivalent expertise:
