ONS-TDM-SONET - Optical Network Systems Time Division Multiplexing SONET v9.2 - Optical (5721)
In this lab-intensive course, you will get an introduction to the CiscoOptical Network System (ONS) Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) family oftransport products, including hands-on work with an ONS 15454, ONS 15600, ONS15310-MA, and ONS-15310-CL. The ONS 15454, ONS 15310-MA, and ONS 15310-CL areSONET transport system components that can be mixed and matched to createhigh-speed optical transport networks.
You will learn about the SONET optical hierarchy OC-3 (155 Mbps) OC-12 (644Mbps) OC-48 (2.5 Gbps) and OC-192 (10 Gbps). You will learn how DS-1 (1.5 Mbps)and DS-3 (45 Mbps) electrical signals are carried in the SONET optical links, and you'll learn to configure and build circuits through the ADM10G card, a TDMcard in the ONS 15454 DWDM system. In the course, you will cover electrical,Ethernet, and optical protection options, linear and ring topologies, circuitbuilding, and troubleshooting, including investigating Ethernet circuits atLayer 1 and Layer 2 using the CE and ML cards. Each student team will work withan ONS 15454, ONS 15310-MA, and ONS-15310-CL.
