Consolidation Choices

Storage Consolidation

Reclaim wasted space. File sharing, database and messaging applications are critical to successful enterprise operations. System downtime, unavailable data or hindered processes affect a company's success. To support increasingly complex and distributed environments, many organizations are challenged with managing a growing proliferation of servers and dispersed data storage. GCA Technology Services has helped its customers with consolidation solutions to simplify management, increase availability, heighten productivity and reduce costs in collaborative environments.

Data and storage demands are growing exponentially. Now is not the time for business as usual. With a systems approach to innovative products, technologies and methodologies, we enable you to manage data and ensure that data is identity-enabled, data access is more affordable and data utilization and retrieval are increased. GCA Technology Services offers a range of solutions, services and products to fit your needs and budget, for whatever stage of the process you want assistance with.

Server Consolidation

Is server sprawl becoming a problem? Consolidate under-utilized servers that are taking up more space and consuming more resources than their workload justifies. Increase your server utilization, efficiency and ROI while shrinking your server footprint.

Logical Domains (LDoms) is the most open virtualization technology available -- and it's free. Unlike proprietary virtualization technologies, LDoms can save you nearly $10,000 per server. The more servers you virtualize, the more you save and benefit.

Consolidation and Virtualization

Consolidation is frequently lumped together with virtualization. The concept of consolidation, at least in mainstream IT technology, is a bit older than the up-and-coming virtualization technology. Although quite similar, the key differences are clear.

Consolidation is generally the consolidation of data, systems or services from multiple sources into a centralized system. Virtualization is generally a technique for hiding or virtualizing the physical characteristics of computing resources from the way in which typical systems, applications or end users interact with those resources.

Virtualization makes it possible to run multiple operating systems and applications on one computer at the same time. This allows our customers to use their existing hardware more efficiently, saving time, money and energy.
