Veritas Cluster Server for UNIX Certification
Although each product varies in complexity and depth, all certification exams are created specifically for customers and cover core elements measuring technical knowledge against factors such as installation, configuration, product administration and day-to-day maintenance. The program consists of the Veritas Cluster Server technical exam at a product/version level that validates that the successful candidate has important knowledge and skills necessary to plan, install, implement, and maintain Veritas Cluster Server 5.0 on a UNIX platform.
The VERITAS Cluster Server course is designed for the IT professional tasked with installing, configuring, and maintaining VCS clusters. This five-day, instructor-led, hands-on class covers how to use VERITAS Cluster Server to manage applications in a high availability environment. After gaining the fundamental skills that are needed to manage a highly available application in a cluster, you will deploy VCS in a lab environment to implement a sample cluster design.
In this course, you will learn to integrate, operate, and make the most of VERITAS Storage Foundation, including VERITAS Volume Manager (VxVM) and VERITAS File System (VxFS), in a UNIX environment. You will learn to install and configure VERITAS Volume Manager and how to manage disks, disk groups, and volumes by using the graphical user interface and from the command line. You will also learn system troubleshooting and recovery, online file system administration, cross-platform data sharing, and offline and off-host processing using volume snapshots and storage checkpoints.
