Here, at GCA Technology Services, we run classes for multiple vendors. I was tasked with creating the class build for the Symantec Netbackup 6.5 for Windows class. The hardware we are using, however, is all virtual. We are using a Netapp VTL and VMWare ESX Server to create the student systems. The hardware we are virtualizing lives at our Tampa office, while the class is going to be run from our Seattle office.
When I read the story about the bank in Bullit County, Ky, the first thing that came to my mind was multifactor authentication. If the bank had employed a second factor of authentication, such as biometrics or smart card, they would never have lost the $415,000.00.
